Houston, Texas black metallers Necrofier have unveiled a new video for “Fires Of The Apocalypse, Light My Path I”, taken from their third full-length, Transcend Into Oblivion, released February 27th via Metal Blade Records.
Since forming in 2018, Necrofier have fused the frostbitten spirit of mid-’90s Scandinavian black metal with a distinctly fiery Texan edge.
Vocalist/guitarist Bakka elaborates on the meaning behind “Fires Of The Apocalypse, Light My Path I”:
“The beginning when your eyes see for the first time. Something in you has changed but you don’t know what it is yet. You’re drawn to it, it consumes you. You are not the person you were before, but you don’t know why and how yet. New beginnings burn deep in the soul.”
Recorded at Southwing Studios and House Of Thorns in Houston, the album was produced and engineered by Joel Hamilton, mixed at Studio G in Brooklyn, and adorned with artwork by José Gabriel Alegría Sabogal. The result is a fully realized hour-long transformation.

The record has already drawn widespread praise, with Decibel Magazine calling it “a fully cohesive, absolutely crushing work”, while Metal Hammer highlighted its conceptual ambition and melodic old-school spirit, noting parallels to Watain, Necrophobic, and Dissection.
Necrofier will perform a special one-off hometown show on March 28th at White Oak Music Hall Lawn in Houston alongside Acid Bath, Obituary, and High on Fire.
Further appearances include San Luis Metal Festival in Mexico and the legendary Maryland Deathfest in Baltimore this May, with additional live dates, including a full European tour, to be announced soon.
As the American black metal movement continues to swell, Necrofier stand at its spearhead, transplanting ancient Scandinavian roots into wide, burning plains. With Transcend Into Oblivion, they deliver not just an album, but a ritualistic reckoning.
