Edmonton-based death/doom duo Anthrodynia have announced their debut album, Unspeakable Horrors Emanating From Within, set for release on August 15, 2025, via Nameless Grave Records. The album, featuring five tracks spanning nearly forty minutes, blends frantic death metal with dismal doom sections, drawing influence from bands like Disembowelment, Incantation, Spectral Voice, and Grief, enhanced by ethereal lead work.
The album’s opening track, Severed From Mundanity, serves as the first single, now streaming online. The band describes it as a representation of their sound, combining contrasting doom and blistering death metal parts with layered clean and effect-laden guitars to create a desolate atmosphere.

The tracklist includes:
- Severed From Mundanity
- Engulfed In Grief
- Cathartic Dissemination
- A Rotten Sun
- Suffering Pure Light
Unspeakable Horrors Emanating From Within was recorded, mixed, and produced by Derek Orthner, mastered by Brad Boatright at Audiosiege, with artwork and logo by Karmazid, photography by Circle of Bones, and layout by Orthner. The duo, consisting of Derek Orthner (guitars, vocals, synth, effects) and Durell Smith (drums, bass), formed out of their shared love for death and doom, reflecting themes of cruelty and exhaustion in mankind.
The album will be available on CD, LP, and digitally, with preorders live at the Nameless Grave Records webshop and Bandcamp. Anthrodynia plan to focus on writing, recording, and production, limiting live appearances, though they performed in Edmonton earlier this year. More previews and announcements are expected soon.
