Cold Slither Drops Lyric Video for “Thunder Machine” Ahead of Album Release

The fictional G.I. JOE heavy metal band Cold Slither, brought to life through a collaboration between Hasbro and Reigning Phoenix Music, has released a lyric video for their latest single “Thunder Machine” today, June 3, 2025. The track, inspired by the Dreadnoks’ brutal battle rig, delivers cinematic riffs and raw energy, serving as an explosive anthem of chaos and rebellion. It joins previously released singles “Cold Slither” and “Knock Em Dread” as the only tracks currently cleared for radio and podcast play. The video, animated by Costin Chioreanu, amplifies the song’s dystopian metal vibe with visuals of swamp-born menace and Cobra-fueled power.

“Thunder Machine” is the third single from Cold Slither’s self-titled debut album, set for release on July 25, 2025, featuring 10 tracks:

  1. Welcome to the Swamp (Intro)
  2. Cold Slither
  3. Knock ‘Em Dread
  4. Thunder Machine
  5. Zartan’s Revenge
  6. Snakes on the Bayou
  7. Torched
  8. Under the Dreadnok’s Spell
  9. Master of Disguise
  10. The Ballad of Buzzer
  11. These Fluffies Are Fatal

The album, produced by Gus Rios (Gruesome, Union Black, Left to Die) as Zartan, with Matt Harvey (Exhumed, Gruesome, Left to Die) as Ripper, Ross Sewage (Exhumed, Impaled) as Torch, and Andy Selway (KMFDM) as Buzzer, is available for pre-order in digital and vinyl formats, including a “Dreadnok Attack Orange” marble variant and San Diego Comic-Con exclusives “Zartan Chameleon Blue” and “Blood Moon Red” at Hasbro and RPM booths.

Cold Slither will make their live debut on July 24, 2025, at San Diego’s Brick by Brick during Comic-Con, a 21+ event with tickets at $35, featuring exclusive merch like t-shirts, posters, and collectible pins.

The project, rooted in the 1985 G.I. JOE episode, blends nostalgia with modern heavy metal, fulfilling a 40-year dream for fans, as noted by Hasbro’s Ben “BMac” MacCrae and RPM’s Gerardo Martinez.
