Converge Announce New LP Hum of Hurt — Out June 5, 2026

Hardcore innovators Converge have announced their second full-length album of 2026, Hum of Hurt, arriving June 5 via Deathwish Inc. / Epitaph Records.

The band also unveiled the title track, a powerful and emotionally charged piece that captures the record’s central concept, an eerie, low-frequency phenomenon known as “The Hum”, reimagined as a manifestation of collective human suffering.

Concept & Direction

Inspired by real-world reports of a persistent, unexplained sound heard across places like Taos and Ipswich, vocalist Jacob Bannon frames The Hum as something deeper:

“What if ‘The Hum’ is the culmination of all the pain in the world, creating an audible signal across the universe?”

Following Love Is Not Enough, this new release explores a more raw and exposed sound, leaning toward emotional hardcore rather than the metal-leaning weight of its predecessor.

The lead single stands among the band’s most urgent work to date, with Bannon reflecting on personal sacrifice and self-awareness:

“I’ve given 35 years of my life to creating art… These lyrics are me looking in a mirror.”

Production & Artwork
• Recorded & mixed by Kurt Ballou at God City Studio
• Engineering: Zach Weeks
• Artwork collaboration with Thomas Hooper

The visual concept blends EKG signals with seismic activity, symbolizing a world where emotional and physical disturbances converge into a singular “Hum”.
