The performance took place last month in front of 10,000 fans in Amsterdam, delivering a monumental moment in the band’s long-running career.
The new video, titled “Eye of the Storm (Live at the Ziggo Dome)”, showcases the massive scale and theatrical intensity that have defined Epica’s live presence for more than two decades. The track originally appears on the band’s latest studio album Aspiral, their ninth full-length release.
Watch “Eye of the Storm (Live at the Ziggo Dome)”:

With Aspiral, Epica continue their upward creative spiral. The record captures a band energized by collaboration and creative renewal, with each member contributing ideas shaped by years of experience.
Following the release of Omega, the band explored new territory with The Alchemy Project EP, collaborating with artists from across the metal spectrum. Extensive world touring followed, including special performances alongside Metallica and several sold-out “Symphonic Synergy” concerts featuring full orchestra and choir.
The concept behind Aspiral draws inspiration from Polish sculptor Stanisław Szukalski. Bassist Rob van der Loo discovered Szukalski’s work during the COVID lockdown while watching the documentary Struggle: The Life and Lost Art of Stanislav Szukalski. The intricate symbolism in the artist’s sculptures sparked the idea of composing music as soundtracks to those visual works.
The album’s title references a 1965 bronze sculpture depicting snails rebuilding civilization from the mud, a metaphor for renewal and cyclical growth, an idea that mirrors the band’s own evolution.
The release arrives as Epica kick off the second leg of “The Arcane Dimensions Tour” alongside Amaranthe and Charlotte Wessels’ project The Obsession, bringing together three dynamic forces in modern symphonic metal.
More than twenty years into their career, Epica continue to refine and expand their signature fusion of symphonic metal, and philosophical themes, With Aspiral, the band reaffirm their place among the genre’s most ambitious and enduring acts, now bringing that vision to the stage on a massive scale.
