Dallas death metallers Frozen Soul have announced their third full-length studio album, No Place of Warmth, arriving May 8 via Century Media Records. Alongside the announcement, the band has unveiled the title track, “No Place of Warmth”, featuring guest vocals from Gerard Way, accompanied by a new official music video.

A monolithic and majestic statement, No Place of Warmth refines Frozen Soul’s signature blend of merciless riffs and subtle melody. Across eleven tightly wound tracks, the band surveys the emotional wastelands carved out by everyday struggle, delivering songs that confront life’s cold realities while empowering listeners to push forward. Vocalist Chad Green describes the title track as an exploration of life at its bleakest, and the conscious decision not to be consumed by it. Rather than surrender to inevitability, the song calls for resilience: life never stops advancing, and neither should we.

The accompanying video, directed by Brendan McGowan, visualizes that tension through a symbolic clash with Death itself. Actor London Smith reprises his role from 2023’s “Morbid Effigy”, this time embodying Death as the lead character defiantly protects a dagger wrapped in rosary beads, a gesture of courage in the face of the inevitable. The concept underscores the album’s central message: we will not be ruled by fear.

Green notes that the collaboration with Gerard Way grew naturally out of friendship and shared musical admiration. Knowing Way’s appreciation for heavy music, the band extended the invitation, and the result is a dynamic fusion of worlds that enhances rather than dilutes Frozen Soul’s crushing core. The record also features appearances from Rob Flynn of Machine Head and Devin Swank of Sanguisugabogg, each adding their own style to the album’s relentless framework.

Musically, No Place of Warmth finds Frozen Soul distilled to their most primal essence. Rooted firmly in classic American death metal, the album channels old-school brutality, inspired by bands like Obituary and Cannibal Corpse, while injecting hardcore urgency and Texas-sized heft. Produced by Josh Schroeder at Random Awesome Studios in Midland, Michigan, the band embraced a more instinct-driven creative process, writing extensively on-site and capturing a raw immediacy that amplifies the record’s impact.

Despite its icy title, No Place of Warmth ultimately burns with defiance. Each track serves as a rallying cry, concise, and hook-laden, urging listeners not to be swept away by the storm but to stand firm and move forward. In just five years, Frozen Soul have ascended from underground hopefuls to one of death metal’s most formidable modern forces, and this latest offering solidifies that trajectory.

Currently touring Europe and set to cross the United States this spring, Frozen Soul continue to bring their frostbitten assault to stages worldwide. With No Place of Warmth, they prove that even in the coldest landscapes, strength is forged.
