UK band High Parasite, led by Aaron Stainthorpe of My Dying Bride, have released their brand-new single Cold today, July 3, 2025, accompanied by an official music video available to watch online.
Though previously unreleased, the track is a live set staple and marks the band’s next chapter following their debut album Forever We Burn. Bassist/vocalist Tombs explains, “’Cold’ was lyrically inspired by Plato’s analogy of the cave… The idea of a person realising too late in life that there is no God, no heaven, no hell… and the panic and anger they would feel when it dawns on them that they are truly alone.”

Additionally, a remixed version of Parasite from Forever We Burn, produced by Lewis Johns (Employed To Serve, Earthtone9, Loathe), is now available on all streaming platforms, having previously been exclusive to YouTube. The original album, produced by Gregor Mackintosh of Paradise Lost and released on September 27, 2024, via Spinefarm, featured singles like Let It Fail.
After touring with Cradle of Filth and Unto Others, High Parasite will perform a one-off show with Cradle of Filth on July 6 at Epic Studios in Norwich, followed by European festival dates including Bloodstock Open Air (August 7) and Eindhoven Metal Meeting (December 13). They are also confirmed to support Paradise Lost on their October 2025 UK tour, find details at highparasite.com/#tour
The lineup includes Aaron Stainthorpe (vocals), Tombs (bass), Sam Hill (rhythm guitar), Jonny Hunter (lead guitar), and Dan Brown (drums).
