UK “death pop” band High Parasite, led by Aaron Stainthorpe of My Dying Bride, have released their new single “Drag Me Under”.
Originally written during sessions for their debut album, the track was held back due to its distinct sound—now emerging as a forward-looking statement for the band’s next chapter.
A Glimpse Into the Future
According to bassist Tombs, “Drag Me Under” stood apart from the material on their debut due to its stylistic direction:
“It was a little different… with more of a Rammstein kind of vibe. We decided to hold it back… until this moment.”
Now released, the track serves as an early indication of what’s to come, as the band confirms they are already working on their second studio album.
Momentum Builds After Forever We Burn
High Parasite’s debut full-length, Forever We Burn, arrived in September 2024 via Spinefarm Records and was produced by Gregor Mackintosh of Paradise Lost.

With “Drag Me Under”, the band pushes further into a darker, more industrial-leaning direction, blending gothic atmosphere with heavy, hook-driven songwriting.
Headline Tour Underway
The release coincides with the band’s 2026 UK & European headline tour, including their first-ever headline London show at The Lexington.
The run follows earlier shows across Ireland and continues to build momentum across Europe.
