Hollow Leg Set to Release Dust and Echoes, a Dual-EP Odyssey, Out June 13 via Third House Communications

Florida’s sludge-metal band Hollow Leg are set to release their fifth full-length album, Dust and Echoes, on June 13, 2025, through Third House Communications. What began as two separate EPs—Dust and Echoes, recorded in distinct sessions across 2024—has been fused into a 39-minute journey of apocalyptic heaviness and atmospheric depth. The album, available for pre-order at hollowleg666.bandcamp.com in digital and vinyl formats, spans nine tracks that weave doom, grunge, classic metal, and space rock into a narrative of collapse and rebirth.

Hollow Leg, formed in 2009 in Jacksonville, comprises Scott Angelacos (vocals), Brent Lynch (guitars/backing vocals), Tom Crowther (bass), and John Stewart (drums/percussion). Veterans of underground acts like Bloodlet and Junior Bruce, the band recorded Dust and Echoes at High Five Studio in DeLand, Florida, with production handled in-house and mixing/mastering by Zeuss (Hatebreed, Crowbar). The artwork, crafted by Shawn Garrett and Jean Saiz, mirrors the album’s themes of desolation and renewal.

Tracklist:

  1. Poison Bite
  2. Sick Days
  3. Funeral Storms
  4. Another Day Dying
  5. Holy Water
  6. Last Tribe
  7. Bury Our Kings
  8. Red Skies
  9. Ride the Wave/Dig the Grave

The album kicks off with Dust’s raw brutality: “Poison Bite” delivers sludgy, grim emotion, while “Sick Days” blends gritty riffs with melodic vocals, tackling war’s absurdity. “Funeral Storms” grooves with grunge-tinged apocalyptic vibes, and “Another Day Dying” channels hardcore energy with a psychedelic slide guitar outro. “Holy Water” closes the first half with atmospheric layers—rainsticks, congas, and a post-apocalyptic hymn for the “last tribe.” Echoes shifts into groove and psychedelia: “Last Tribe” bridges the EPs with rich harmonies, “Bury Our Kings” stomps with bluesy swagger, “Red Skies” imagines humanity fleeing to Mars, and the 6:33 epic “Ride the Wave/Dig the Grave” closes with a frenetic-to-doom-gaze meditation on aging and surrender.

After a 2024 tour with Florist and appearances at Maryland Doom Fest, Hollow Leg continues to evolve, balancing crushing riffs with newfound melody. For fans of Eyehategod, Melvins, or High on Fire, Dust and Echoes is a heavy, soulful saga of destruction and hope. Pre-order now and connect with the band on socials!
