Death/doom metal band Hooded Menace, formed in 2007 in Joensuu, Finland, announced their seventh album Lachrymose Monuments of Obscuration, set for release on October 3, 2025, via Season of Mist. The lead single Portrait Without a Face premiered on August 5, 2025, with a video directed by Tekla Valy and additional footage by Mikko Saastamoinen, available at:

Recorded in Finland, the album features cover art by Wes Benscoter, inspired by Amando de Ossorio’s The Blind Dead, and a guest cello performance by former bassist Antti Poutanen on Portrait Without a Face. The lineup includes Lasse Pyykkö (guitars), Harri Kuokkanen (vocals), Pekka Koskelo (drums), and Antti Poutanen (bass).
