Toronto-based post-metal band lowheaven have released their highly anticipated debut album, Ritual Decay, today via MNRK Heavy.
Pulling from ‘90s influences like Cave In and Deftones, Ritual Decay is a visceral first statement, ten tracks that crash through walls of noise to confront themes of social isolation, grief, and the struggle of losing faith in both life and oneself.

Produced by Brett Romnes (Boston Manor, Hot Mulligan) and mastered by Magnus Lindberg, the album was recorded in a centuries-old New Jersey church, its haunting setting shaping both the performances and the atmosphere. Inspired by horror cinema, from Cronenberg’s Crimes Of The Future to Julia Ducournau’s Titane—lowheaven immersed themselves in psychological intensity, pushing their art to its breaking point.
Formed in 2020 during the pandemic, lowheaven emerged from upheaval and grief. With members channeling personal loss, medical challenges, and identity shifts, the music reflects exhaustion, catharsis, and emotional weight.
