Lycanthro Unleashes “The Great Masquerade” Single and Video Featuring Laura Guldemond (Burning Witches)

Canadian power metal band Lycanthro released their second single, “The Great Masquerade,” along with an accompanying music video. The track, a power/prog ballad duet, features guest vocals by Laura Guldemond of Burning Witches and is part of their upcoming album “Remnants of Rapture”, set to drop on May 23 via Psychomanteum Records. The song is now available to stream on platforms like YouTube, with the album open for pre-order.

Hailing from Ottawa, Lycanthro—formed in 2018 by David Whitaker (vocals, guitars), James Delbridge (guitars), Matthew McGachy (bass), and Nathan Shuman (drums)—blends power metal, thrash, and traditional heavy metal, drawing inspiration from bands like Savatage and Blind Guardian. “The Great Masquerade” showcases their dynamic sound with grandiose melodies and thunderous riffs, enhanced by Guldemond’s commanding vocal presence. The band expressed their excitement, calling the track a collective favorite and praising the collaboration with Guldemond. Mixed and mastered by Damien Rainaud, known for his work with Dragonforce, the single features artwork by Anomaly Broccoli. The music video, being shot in two locations, Scott Rawson Brown in Ottawa and Toddi Babu in Florida, was edited by Gabbi Vessoni, capturing the song’s theatrical essence.

Remnants of Rapture includes 11 tracks:
