Malphas Reawakens Early Darkness with New Single The Conjuring

Philadelphia-based blackened melodeath band Malphas have unleashed their latest single, The Conjuring, released today, July 2, 2025, via M-Theory Audio. Available to watch online, this reimagined track revisits one of the band’s earliest compositions, blending their raw origins with the refined intensity of their modern sound. Following the acclaim of their 2024 sophomore album Portal, The Conjuring serves as a creative bridge to their upcoming third full-length, tying into the mythos of The 39th Spirit and future releases.

Paul DeSanctis explains, “The Conjuring is one of the early tracks we recorded… We rewrote and rearranged parts of it in the vein of our modern sound and were pleasantly surprised by the result. The role of the Conjuror is central to the story of The 39th Spirit and will be linked to the events in our third album.” Featuring cinematic orchestration, blistering guitars, and a deep narrative core, the single reinforces Malphas’s status as a defining force in extreme metal.

Formed in 2012 by DeSanctis and Eric Dunleavy, with Damian DiFrancesco joining in 2014 and Joshua DeJesus in 2019, Malphas will support the single with the Steel and Sorcery Tour this July, alongside Ice Giant and Celestial Wizard, with Trollwar as a special guest on select dates. Known for extensive tours with Tengger Cavalry, Keep of Kalessin, and others, Malphas continues to dominate the underground scene.
