Marilyn Manson has officially announced a new studio album, One Assassination Under God – Chapter 2, set for release on August 14 via Nuclear Blast Records. The record continues the conceptual arc begun in Chapter 1 and marks the latest chapter in the artist’s ongoing collaboration with composer and producer Tyler Bates.
Alongside the announcement, Manson has released the first single, “Exit Wound,” now streaming across platforms with an accompanying music video directed by RIZZ and Gretchen Lanham. The track expands on the cinematic industrial sound introduced in the previous chapter, leaning further into dense atmospherics, mechanical percussion, and bleak melodic tension.
“Exit Wound” sets the tone for Chapter 2
Described as dark, visceral, and cinematic, “Exit Wound” continues the evolution of Manson’s recent sonic direction. It retains the industrial foundation of earlier work while pushing deeper into layered sound design and unsettling tonal shifts, reinforcing the conceptual nature of the album series.

A continued industrial evolution
This new chapter positions Manson further within the cinematic industrial rock framework developed alongside Tyler Bates, blending performance art aesthetics with heavier electronic textures and a more narrative-driven structure than earlier eras.
With Chapter 2, the project continues to lean into conceptual storytelling, reinforcing a unified sonic and visual identity across both albums.
