Copenhagen, August 16th – at 23:50, Myrkur (Amalie Bruun), her band, crew, and photographer Julia Nikiforova boarded their nightliner to Dalhalla, Sweden. Over the next three nights, they opened for Heilung and The Smashing Pumpkins, capturing a rare and dreamlike glimpse into life on the road.
The resulting short film, Three Nights in Two Universes, was filmed and edited by Julia Nikiforova (JN Lightning Photography) with breathtaking drone footage by Air Pixma Media. The piece beautifully blurs the line between documentary and art film, capturing the ethereal energy, exhaustion, and magic that surround Myrkur’s performances.
Amalie shares:
“I have no more concerts booked for the foreseeable future. It is now time for me to focus on writing new music. Before I disappear into the woods for some much-needed rest, I would like to share with you all this short film. It has been an intense two years, and I want to thank everyone who came to see me and my band on the live stages all over — from the Royal Theater, to the King Diamond tour, to my own headline tours and festivals.”
Three Nights in Two Universes stands as both a reflection and a farewell, a serene closing chapter before Myrkur retreats to create what’s next.
