Chinese Mongolian progressive metal band NINE TREASURES have unveiled the official video for the title track from their acclaimed new album Seeking The Absolute, out now on Metal Blade Records.
Watch “Seeking The Absolute” now:
The track embraces the band’s signature blend of traditional Mongolian instrumentation and progressive metal complexity, built around expressive Eastern playing techniques and gliding melodic phrasing. “The working title was simply ‘Slide,’” notes vocalist/guitarist Askhan, “because of how often we use glissando. By that time, our creative process had become completely free. We just followed instinct. The dual solo between the morin khuur and slide guitar is one of my favorite moments—two instruments, two textures, playing the exact same notes. It’s a perfect fusion.”
In a groundbreaking move, NINE TREASURES partnered with Matthew Medney and Alex Kane (Gungnir) to integrate imagery drawn directly from the forthcoming official NINE TREASURES comic series. The result is a seamless fusion of performance footage and stylized animation, expanding the band’s visual mythology and intertwining Mongolian folklore, spiritual symbolism, and progressive metal storytelling into a single connected universe across albums, comics, and now animation.
The video arrives alongside previously released visuals for “Real Dream” and “Until Now”, continuing the album’s larger narrative focus.
Seeking The Absolute is available now worldwide on CD, vinyl, and digital formats via Metal Blade Records.

Formed in 2010 by Askhan in Inner Mongolia, the band merges guitars, bass, and drums with traditional instruments including the morin khuur, tovshuur, and balalaika, alongside both conventional vocals and Mongolian throat singing. Their sound moves fluidly between heavy, headbanging passages and atmospheric progressive territory, supported by unique Mongolian playing logic and a distinctly modern metal edge. After more than a decade, countless festival stages across Asia, and four studio albums, NINE TREASURES now take their next major step onto the global stage.
Seeking The Absolute marks their first Metal Blade release and their first album with worldwide distribution, earning praise across the metal press:
“One of the most unique and effortlessly enjoyable albums of 2025.” — Louder Sound
“A fascinating journey through Mongolian folklore and metal.” — Metal Hammer Germany
