German pagan folk band Faun has released their new standalone single, “Lament,” today, accompanied by a music video. The track reimagines a pre-Christian mourning song from northern England, extended with new verses and enriched with choirs, drums, and traditional instruments like a hurdy-gurdy, flute, key fiddle, and Celtic long trumpet (lure). The band—Oliver Satyr (vocals, moraharpa), Laura Fella (vocals), Adaya (vocals, bagpipe), Stephan Groth (vocals, hurdy-gurdy), Niel Mitra (synthesizer, sampler, keyboard, beats), Alexander Schulz (drums, percussion), and Mirjam Skal (orchestration)—dedicated the song to their late friend and sound engineer, Jürgen Schneider, who passed away in 2023 after over a decade of collaboration. Faun stated, “With a choir of four singers from Faun… we dedicated this song to our friend and sound engineer, Jürgen Schneider, who tragically passed away in 2023, after more than 10 years of traveling and concerts together.”

Formed in 1998, Faun has released 11 studio albums, blending medieval instruments with modern music, earning platinum status for Von den Elben (2013) and gold for Luna (2014). Their World Hex Tour 2025 kicks off today with EU festival dates: May 30 in Fulda, Germany, at Museumshof (Kultur findet Stadt), and May 31 in Rastede, Germany, at MPS Rastede. The tour spans 14 countries, including the US and Canada (June 13-29), Latin America (July 2-5), and EU/UK (August-October), with stops like July 5 in São Paulo, Brazil, at Sala Metronomo, and October 25 in München, Germany, at Circus Krone, alongside festivals like M’era Luna (August 9).

Tickets and VIP packages are available at faune.de/en/tour.
