European progressive metal force PHILOSOPHOBIA has unveiled a new video for Underneath Grassroots, taken from their acclaimed sophomore album, The Constant Void, out now on Sensory Records.
Formed in 2020 by members and ex-members of Kamelot, Paul Di’Anno, Wastefall, and more, PHILOSOPHOBIA quickly made a name for themselves with their 2022 debut, which drew glowing international reviews and multiple “Album of the Year” mentions.

The Constant Void pushes their sound further, blending intricate progressive metal with emotional depth and a heavier modern edge. The album features contributions from drummer Alexander Landenburg, guitarist Andreas Ballnus, vocalist Domenik Papaemmanouil, keyboardist Tobias Wergerber, and new bassist Sebastian Heuckmann. Guests include Vikram Shankar (keyboard solo on F 40.8) and Rob Leland (spoken word on the epic 20-minute closer The Forgotten Part II).
On the new single, Ballnus shares:
“‘Underneath Grassroots’ is probably the most personal on the album. What it means to me might mean something completely different to another one. It basically is about someone you loved and who has passed. At some point you realize that you haven’t visited the grave for a long time. But does it mean that you have not been mourning or thinking about them? Everyone has to decide their own if it really needs the place to think of someone and to keep on loving the ones who have faded away.”
