Profane Elegy Unleashes Haunted from Upcoming Album Herezjarcha

Pennsylvania-based black metal band Profane Elegy has released their second single, Haunted, from their sophomore album Herezjarcha, set for release on January 30, 2026, independently. The track, accompanied by a music video, is available at profaneelegy.bandcamp.com.

Formed in 2021 in Bangor, Pennsylvania, Profane Elegy comprises Mikael L (vocals, orchestration), J Gulick (guitars, orchestration), David G (bass, orchestration), and Sean M (drums). Haunted delves into existential dread and the loss of innocence, reflecting on the inevitability of death through blistering guitars, sweeping orchestration, and anguished vocals that blend black metal ferocity with clean vocal passages and progressive shifts.

Pre-orders are available at profaneelegy.bandcamp.com.

Herezjarcha, an eight-track album with a runtime of approximately 37 minutes, explores themes of nihilism, heresy, mortality, and defiance. The tracklist includes:

  1. Exeunt Omnes – 4:57
  2. Haunted – 3:31
  3. The Accuser – 5:23
  4. As My Heart Turns to Ash – 5:24
  5. I AM – 3:49
  6. Immutable – 4:13
  7. And Then We Are Gone – 4:02
  8. Herezjarcha – 5:57

Produced, mixed, and mastered by Kevin Antreassian (The Dillinger Escape Plan) at Backroom Studios, the album builds on the band’s 2023 debut When All Is Nothing, praised by Doom Heart as “a massive Doom delight.” Each track will be released as a standalone single with its own music video, creating a cohesive narrative. The album’s title, a neologism meaning “arch-heretic,” reflects the band’s rebellious and introspective spirit, pushing black metal boundaries with orchestral and progressive elements.
