On April 24th internationally, code666 will unveil Lunar Crusades, the striking debut full-length from Riverflame, on CD and vinyl LP formats.
Formed in 2024 by members of Hail Spirit Noir, Ponte del Diavolo, and OWLS, Riverflame emerges as a new force forged from seasoned hands. After two years of intensive writing and recording, the band now present Lunar Crusades, a sweeping journey through epic medieval black metal atmospheres and richly woven neoclassical arrangements.
Channeling the grandeur of Stormkeep and Summoning with the sharpened melodicism of Dissection, Riverflame craft a sound that feels both reverent and forward-looking.
The record was mixed and mastered by Dimitris Douvras (known for his work with Rotting Christ and Hail Spirit Noir), ensuring both clarity and depth across its expansive soundscapes. The cover artwork, a commanding painting by Mars Triumph (Manowar, Triumpher), visually encapsulates the album’s mythic and martial essence.
On signing with code666, the band commented:
“Lunar Crusades is scheduled for release via code666, a trustworthy label that most of the members of the band have worked with in the past. The band is very happy for the signing and believes the new album marks another solid addition to the label’s high-quality catalog.”
The first taste of the album arrives with the title track “Riverflame”, now streaming via Aural Music’s Bandcamp page, where preorders for Lunar Crusades are also live.
