Greek black metal legends Rotting Christ have unveiled a live performance of “Under the Name of Legion” from their forthcoming Blu-Ray 35 Years of Evil Existence – Live in Lycabettus, due December 12 via Season of Mist.
Recorded at the historic Lycabettus Hill Theater in Athens in front of 7,000 devotees, the track takes on monumental scale as Sakis Tolis, Themis, Kostis Fouk and Kostas “Spades” Heliotis deliver a career-spanning set in their homeland. A constant fixture in the band’s live arsenal, the song here becomes a defining statement of Hellenic black metal rising from its birthplace.
Originally closing 2002’s Genesis, “Under the Name of Legion” fuses gothic melodies with the early, militant spirit that forged Rotting Christ’s legacy, its chants echoing with ancient resonance across the open-air theatre.
“Thanks to all our metal brothers and sisters for your attention, support and dedication over all these years,” says Sakis. “You can be sure that we will be at the frontline of the battlefield until the end. Non Serviam!”
The Blu-Ray arrives Dec 12, 2025, alongside digital, 2CD digipack, and multiple gatefold vinyl editions, including limited colored variants.
