Arizona extreme metal legends SOULFLY are gearing up for the release of their thirteenth studio album, Chama, out October 24th, 2025 via Nuclear Blast Records. Fronted by the legendary Max Cavalera, the record marks a return to the spiritual yet pulverizing roots of SOULFLY, a sound that balances tribal grooves with modern aggression, delivered with renewed vitality and vision.
The band have just unveiled their brand-new single Nihilist, featuring Todd Jones of NAILS, along with a hard-hitting music video filmed in Bulgaria.
Max Cavalera on Nihilist
“My lyrics are inspired by LG Petrov of Entombed and Nihilist. He left this earth in 2021 and was always a big influence on me. This is one of the heaviest songs on the record, and I love the fact that we went to Bulgaria to make the video. Todd Jones is the special guest on the song, delivering the hardest line on the record: ‘I don’t believe in anything!’”
Guitarist Mike De Leon adds:
“From the depths of the deepest tribes, we bring you the new SOULFLY. This being my first official video ever with the guys is a complete honor. Enjoy it, crank it up, and start the living room mosh pits!”
With Zyon Cavalera stepping up not only as drummer but also taking an evolving role as producer, Chama captures both the timeless SOULFLY essence and a modern sonic punch, ensuring the Cavalera family legacy remains stronger than ever.
