Speaking about the single, vocalist Bridget Lynch shares:
“‘Inhuman Torture Chamber’ was written about the horrific murder of Sylvia Likens. Since gore and torture are common themes in death metal, I try to write songs about real events I’ve read about. They are usually stories that left a negative effect on me.”
Eon of Obscenity marks a significant evolution for STABBING, both in ferocity and precision. Produced by Ben Gott at Southwing Audio and mixed/mastered by Chris Kritikos, the record delivers eleven tracks of brutality while retaining the raw edge of classic death metal.
Formed in 2021, STABBING quickly gained notoriety with their demo and Ravenous Psychotic Onslaught EP before making their full-length debut with Extirpated Mortal Process in 2022. Known for their unrelenting live performances, the band solidified their reputation on tour with Incantation, Suffocation, and 200 Stab Wounds, while also appearing at Maryland Deathfest and Milwaukee Metalfest.
On Eon of Obscenity, STABBING sharpen every weapon in their arsenal. From the neck-breaking opener “Rotting Eternal” to the technically intricate “Ruminations” and the brutal collaboration “Nauseating Composition” featuring Ricky Myers of Suffocation, the record redefines what modern brutal death metal can achieve.
Bridget Lynch reflects on the band’s evolution:
“This album feels more refined. We wanted to keep the honesty and rawness of classic death metal but take everything further. Eon of Obscenity represents a new era for STABBING — it’s us at our most focused and most extreme.”
