New Jersey experimental metal band Tombs have revealed their latest single, The Sun Sets, taken from the band’s forthcoming full-length Feral Darkness, due October 17, 2025 via Redefining Darkness Records.
Watch The Sun Sets:
Bassist Drew Murphy describes the track as one of the record’s defining moments:
“I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve accomplished on the album. I’m particularly proud of this song. It’s definitely a standout track in my opinion. When I listen to this song, I feel like it takes me on an epic journey that ends with being stranded in the middle of a very angry sea. I hope everyone enjoys it as much as we do.”
Feral Darkness marks not only a new label era for Tombs but also a shift in sound. While retaining their black metal foundation, the band push further into their gothic and death rock influences, crafting what is described as their darkest and most haunting record to date.
Pre-orders are available now through Bandcamp and the Redefining Darkness store.
The cover artwork, designed by Seldon Hunt, accompanies the album’s 10-track, 50-minute runtime:
