Vancouver, British Columbia’s orchestral doom quintet Tribunal released the video for their new single “Incarnadine” today, via 20 Buck Spin. The track is the second single from their anxiously awaited sophomore album “In Penitence And Ruin”, set for release on April 18. The video, directed by Gabrielle and Erik Gustafson with additional direction by Liam Stewart-Kanigan, captures the song’s haunting narrative of guilt and loss.

Formed as a duo in 2022 by Soren Mourne (bass, cello, vocals) and Etienne Flinn (guitar, vocals), Tribunal now operates as a quintet with Jessica Yang (guitar), Julia Geaman (drums), and Dallas Alice (keys). “In Penitence And Ruin” builds on their 2023 debut “The Weight Of Remembrance”, which earned praise as a standout doom release, landing on Decibel Magazine’s most anticipated list for 2025. The new album, a conceptual piece about justice and punishment, blends crushing dirges with doleful strings and chilling keys, evoking influences like My Dying Bride and Candlemass. “Incarnadine” showcases this evolution, weaving classical interludes, cello/guitar countermelodies, and funereal heaviness into a journey through a guilty Penitent’s torment. The album, produced by the band and Jesse Gander at Rain City Recorders, features additional vocals by Rory Say and cover art by Mourne.
