Formed by drummer Anders Johansson alongside his sons Karl and Nick, TUNGSTEN have rapidly emerged as one of the most exciting acts in the modern metal landscape. With a sound deeply rooted in classic heavy metal yet sharpened by a contemporary edge, the band has built a reputation for strong songwriting, a distinct identity, and relentless forward momentum.
TUNGSTEN made a powerful debut in 2019 with We Will Rise, quickly following up with Tundra, Bliss, and their latest release, The Grand Inferno (2024). Since forming in 2016 and solidifying their lineup with vocalist Mike Andersson, the band has gained a strong live reputation, touring extensively across Europe alongside acts such as Bloodbound, Firewind, Sonata Arctica, and All For Metal.
They’ve also made appearances at major festivals including Sweden Rock Festival, Leyendas del Rock, Midalidare Metal Fest, and Riverside Rock Fest. Looking ahead, the band is confirmed for RockHarz Festival in July 2026, with more festival appearances on the horizon.
Between touring and high-energy live performances, TUNGSTEN are currently focused on crafting new material for their next studio album, aiming to build on the momentum of The Grand Inferno with an even more powerful follow-up.
