Enigmatic black metallers UADA have announced the release of their new acoustic album, Interwoven, arriving April 10 via Eisenwald Records. The record presents a stark, intimate reinterpretation of the band’s catalog, featuring one acoustic track from each chapter of UADA’s discography, alongside carefully chosen covers honoring artists who shaped their musical identity.
To mark the announcement, UADA have unveiled a chilling acoustic rendition of Nirvana’s “Something in the Way”, accompanied by an evocative performance video. Remaining faithful to the song’s skeletal sorrow while infusing it with bleak, glacial weight, the cover reflects both reverence and reinvention. The video was filmed and edited by Karl Whinnery, directed by Jake Superchi, with Evan Gandy serving as co-director of photography.
Originally formed with a strict “no covers” ethos, UADA intentionally bent that rule for Interwoven. The inclusion of cello adds a somber, ritualistic resonance, allowing the band to explore influences beyond the traditional black metal sphere while maintaining their unmistakable sense of atmosphere and gravity.
Founded on October 1, 2014, Interwoven represents a concept envisioned from the very beginning of UADA’s existence. Frontman Jake Superchi describes the album as a deliberate act of vulnerability—recorded without rehearsals or rigid structure—embracing spontaneity, ancestral textures, and emotional honesty. Unexpected clean vocal passages emerged organically during recording, shaping the album’s haunting, stripped-down character.
The album was engineered and mixed by Superchi at Obsidian Spells, mastered by Arthur Rizk, and features guest cellist C.E. Brown. Cover photography was captured by Peter Beste.

Interwoven Tracklist:
- Djinn
- Devoid of Light
- The Dark Winter
- The Purging Fire
- Der Brandtaucher (ROME cover)
- Something in the Way (Nirvana cover)

In support of Interwoven and to celebrate 10 years of Devoid of Light, UADA will co-headline “The Witches of Dystopia Tour MMXXVI” alongside MORTIIS, with additional performances from Jerome Reuter’s ROME and WRAITH KNIGHT. The tour runs April 10 – May 16, 2026, featuring exclusive anniversary sets and rare material. UADA will also return to Milwaukee Metal Fest on June 7.
With Interwoven, UADA peel back the armor of their black metal intensity to reveal something raw, ritualistic, and deeply human, an album that honors their past while illuminating unexpected emotional terrain.
