Modern thrash metal juggernaut Warbringer has dropped their third single, “Through A Glass, Darkly,” from their forthcoming album Wrath and Ruin, set for release this Friday, March 14, 2025. The accompanying music video is out now, offering fans a glimpse into the dark and epic themes that define this latest release.

Frontman John Kevill shared insight into the track, describing it as an exploration of mystical themes with fist-raising energy. “This one has an epic and dark, mystical quality to it, as well as a real fist-raising energy. The song is about an eternally reincarnating warrior, who recounts his struggles and pains across the battlefields of time,” says Kevill. The song draws inspiration from a poem by WWII General George Patton, who believed he was the reincarnation of an eternal warrior, adding a layer of philosophical depth to the track’s themes.
Written by drummer Carlos Cruz, “Through A Glass, Darkly” seeks to capture the epic feel of Warbringer’s longer tracks, condensed into a “pocket epic.” Kevill highlights the soulful guitar solo by Adam Carroll and the powerful vocal finale, calling it one of the finest moments on the record.
As Warbringer prepares to release Wrath and Ruin, fans can also look forward to their North American tour, kicking off on March 18 in San Diego, CA. Brace yourselves for a thrash metal onslaught with the raw intensity of Warbringer’s latest offerings.
