Arjen Anthony Lucassen, the Dutch progressive rock/metal artist known for Ayreon, has released the single We’ll Never Know featuring Nightwish vocalist Floor Jansen, from his forthcoming solo album Songs No One Will Hear, set for release on September 12, 2025, via InsideOutMusic.
The track, available to stream here with a lyric video by Elan Lopez and Lucassen on YouTube, is described by Lucassen as, “by far the saddest and most emotional track on my new solo album. It’s about a loving couple who are expecting a little baby girl, their dream finally coming true. But now, with the end of humanity near, they’ll never get to meet her. They wonder… what kind of person would she have become?”
The song features Irene Jansen (backing vocals), Koen Herfst (drums), Joost Van Den Broek (Hammond), Ben Mathot (violin), Jeroen Goossens (flute), and Lucassen on lead vocals and other instruments.
