BEHEMOTH Unleash New Single “I, Scvlptor” And Announce Companion Release For September

Polish extreme metallers BEHEMOTH have unveiled “I, Scvlptor”, the first single and title track from their upcoming release, I, Scvlptor, due out on September 4, 2026. Accompanied by a striking new music video produced by the acclaimed Polish collective Grupa 13, the track marks the beginning of a new chapter while remaining firmly rooted in the band’s signature epic and theatrical sound.

According to frontman Adam ‘Nergal’ Darski, “I, Scvlptor” follows in the lineage of monumental Behemoth compositions such as “O Father O Satan O Sun!”, “Lucifer”, and “Nieboga Czarny Xiądz,” while introducing fresh elements that push the band’s creative boundaries. Lyrically, the song explores self-creation and personal transformation, using sculpture as a metaphor for humanity’s lifelong struggle against limitations and mortality.

Rather than serving as a traditional studio album, I, Scvlptor is being presented as a unique standalone release bridging the gap between the band’s recent work and its future direction. The eight-track collection features seven previously unreleased studio recordings and one live performance, combining new material with modern re-recordings of classic songs from Behemoth’s early years.

Among the highlights are newly reimagined versions of “Rise of the Blackstorm of Evil” from The Return of the Northern Moon (1992) and “In Thy Pandemaeternum” from Pandemonic Incantations (1998). The release also includes tributes to two foundational influences on Behemoth’s sound: “In League With Satan” by Venom featuring Shagrath of Dimmu Borgir, and “The Return of Darkness and Evil” by Bathory featuring Sakis Tolis of Rotting Christ.

Nergal described the release as an important transitional record for the band:

“Even though it’s not a regular studio album and is more of a compilation, the fact that it contains songs nobody has ever heard before makes it a significant release for us. We see I, Scvlptor as a bridge between where we are now and whatever may come next.”

The artwork was created by longtime Behemoth collaborator Bartek Rogalewicz of LODGE.BLACK, while the release will be available across multiple formats including CD, LP, cassette, and several highly limited collector’s editions.

To support the release, Behemoth will join forces with Dimmu Borgir for the massive “In League With Satan Tour 2026”, with special guests Dark Funeral. The co-headlining trek will visit major cities throughout Europe and the United Kingdom during October, including a newly announced hometown performance in Katowice, Poland.
