Bloodbound Release “The Nine Crusades” Video Featuring Brittney Slayes

Swedish power band Bloodbound charge forward once again, unveiling a new lyric video for “The Nine Crusades”, taken from their eleventh full-length, Field Of Swords.

Joining the fray is Brittney Slayes of Unleash the Archers, whose vocals intertwine with Patrik J. Selleby in a duet that crowns the album’s climactic finale. The track recounts the era of the nine crusades (1096–1291), channeling both epic scale and sobering historical weight.

Keyboardist Fredrik Bergh reveals that the song’s origins date back to 2018, originally penned with the intention of collaborating with Sabaton. Though that partnership never materialized, Bloodbound ultimately reclaimed the track for themselves, now realizing its full potential on Field Of Swords. Bergh calls it one of the strongest compositions he’s ever worked on.

Guitarist Tomas Olsson underscores the historical magnitude behind the lyrics, noting the immense human cost of the crusading period. Slayes herself describes the collaboration as an honor, embracing the opportunity to explore a style distinct from her own band’s songwriting approach while adding her personal touch to Bloodbound’s anthemic framework.

Released via Napalm Records, Field Of Swords continues the conceptual thread established on 2023’s Tales From The North, shifting from the Viking Age into the harsh realities of the medieval era. The album balances aggression and majesty, featuring some of the fastest material Bloodbound have written alongside grand, stately compositions such as “The Nine Crusades”.

Bloodbound will bring these new battle hymns to the stage beginning March 12 in Hamburg, joining labelmates Angus McSix on tour, with additional support from Brainstorm. The run spans eleven cities, concluding March 22 in Eindhoven, before the band heads to major European festivals including Full Metal Mayrhofen and Alcatraz Festival.

With Field Of Swords, Bloodbound once again prove their mastery of heroic storytelling wrapped in gleaming heavy metal armor — valiant, vigorous, and victorious to the last crusade.
