Swedish melodic black/death metal band Cardinal Sin, formed in 1995 in Göteborg by former Dissection guitarist John Zwetsloot, will see their sole EP, Spiteful Intents, reissued on August 29, 2025, by Regain Records on CD and vinyl LP formats.
Originally released in 1996 by Wrong Again Records, the EP features four tracks:
- Spiteful Intent
- Probe With A Quest
- The Cardinal Sin
- Language Of Sorrow
The reissue includes three bonus tracks from the same 1995 Berno Studio session: Fallen From Life’s Enlightened Throne, Ante Mortem, and a cover of Death’s Infernal Death. The band, also featuring former Marduk members Jocke Göthberg (vocals, drums) and Devo Andersson (guitars, bass), delivers a melodic yet raw black/death metal sound reminiscent of Dissection’s The Somberlain.
