Cemetery Announce Thoughts on Life… and Death Album Release

German death metal band Cemetery, formed in 1990 in Schongau, Bavaria, by Dani Zizek and Michael Bolz, will release their third album Thoughts on Life… and Death on August 8, 2025. A 50-minute concept album, it explores a totalitarian regime’s rise and an individual’s downfall, narrated through protagonist “Jim.” The single Grief, Anger and Despair, with a music video, is out now at cemeterydeathmetal.bandcamp.com.

Recorded at Walzwerk Studio in Weilheim, mixed and mastered by Sergej Dukart, with artwork by Silvio Fiorese, the album blends old-school death metal with progressive and doom elements. Pre-orders for CD, digital, and limited merch are available at cemeterydeathmetal.bandcamp.com. Initially active until 1994, Cemetery gained cult status with their 1991 demo and 1993 album Enter the Gate, which was unreleased due to label bankruptcy. Reactivated in 2017, the current lineup includes Dani Zizek (vocals/guitars), Markus Heilmeier (guitars), Sergej Dukart (bass), Christoph Hendel (drums), and Alexander Kasper (keyboards).
