Copenhagen-based musician and producer Danheim (Reidar Schæfer Olsen) has unveiled Stormdans, the second single from his forthcoming album Heimferd, due out October 31st via Season of Mist.
Renowned for his evocative blend of Nordic folk and Viking-inspired soundscapes, Danheim has become one of the genre’s most recognizable voices, with his music featured in multiple seasons of Vikings and amassing over one billion streams worldwide.
Stormdans is a forceful and elemental composition, channeling the primal energy of a storm through layers of ritualistic percussion and shifting rhythms. Rather than relying on melody, the track uses rhythm.
Within the broader arc of Heimferd, the track represents one of the record’s most intense moments. Where other songs lean into minimalism and introspection, Stormdans surges with density and force, standing as a ritual of release at the heart of the journey.
