Canadian deathcore band Despised Icon, formed in 2002 in Montreal, has announced their seventh album Shadow Work, set for release on October 31, 2025, via Nuclear Blast Records. Their first new music in six years, the album explores resilience and inner healing, inspired by psychological shadow work, blending relentless speed, crushing grooves, and morbid melodies with their signature death metal and hardcore grit. Produced by Alex Erian and Eric Jarrin, mixed and mastered by Christian Donaldson (Cryptopsy), with artwork by Eliran Kantor (Hatebreed), it features guest vocals from Matt McGachy (Kublai Khan TX), Scott Lewis (Carnifex), and Tom Barber (Chelsea Grin). The band—Alex Erian and Steve Marois (vocals), Eric Jarrin and Ben Landreville (guitars), Seb Filion (bass), and Yannick St-Amand (drums)—is finalizing their first music video.
