“‘Phantom of War’ tells the story of how I became entangled in someone else’s war against themselves — a fight I never chose, but was thrown into nonetheless,” DIANNE explains. “It’s a song about survival, bravery, and standing up for yourself. If you too are in a fight that isn’t yours, let this song be your battle cry.”
Featuring the rallying refrain “Your fight, not my fall”, the single continues the story begun in DIANNE’s previous track, “The Elders’ Call”, further expanding the conceptual world of her forthcoming solo album.
The cinematic music video, filmed at Landgoed Voorstonden in Gelderland, Netherlands, brings the song’s mythic conflict to life with historical reenactment, fiery symbolism, and stunning cinematography by CineBuds.
