Dianne van Giersbergen Releases “The Elders’ Call” Single

Dutch symphonic metal soprano Dianne van Giersbergen has released “The Elders’ Call,” the fifth single from her upcoming solo album Soulward Bound, today, April 17, 2025, under her solo project DIANNE. The track, a majestic ode to ancestral connection, is available to stream on platforms like YouTube and Spotify—check it out at diannevangiersbergen.bandcamp.com. The official music video, honoring those who “paved the way” in her bloodline, is live on YouTube.

Co-written and produced by Joost van den Broek (Epica, Powerwolf), “The Elders’ Call” features an all-star lineup: Patty Gurdy (hurdy-gurdy), Jeroen Goossens (Ayreon, flutes/whistles), Morten Veland (Sirenia, guitars), Rowan Roodbaert (Heidevolk, bass), and René Boxem (Blackbriar, drums). The song’s concept explores answering the ancestral call, with lyrics like “Beneath the stillness, ancient drums reside.” Artwork by Teresa of Teradiamart depicts a hooded Matriarch with an Eagle-Owl avatar, symbolizing the Elders’ watchful presence.

Part of a five-year waterfall release for Soulward Bound, following singles like “After the Storm” (2023) and “Flameborn” (2024), this track blends bombastic symphonic metal with haunting melodies. Fans of Nightwish, Epica, and Xandria will find it irresistible. Support Dianne’s journey at patreon.com/diannevangiersbergen
