Kraków, Poland’s death metal duo Dormant Ordeal has released their fourth full-length, Tooth and Nail, on April 18, 2025, via Willowtip Records. Available on CD, vinyl (including 225 Random Eco Mix, 175 Splatter, and 100 3-color Merge variants), cassette, and digital formats, the album is a relentless, atmospheric masterpiece that builds on the critical acclaim of 2021’s The Grand Scheme of Things. Stream it at Brandcamp, YouTube, or major platforms like Spotify and Apple Music, and order at willowtip.com/bands/details/dormant-ordeal.

Formed in 2008, Dormant Ordeal—guitarist/bassist Maciej Nieścioruk and vocalist Maciej Proficz—has carved a niche in modern death metal with their intense, blackened, and progressive sound. Following the departure of founding drummer Radek Kowal in 2023, the duo enlisted Chason Westmoreland (ex-Hate Eternal, Cambion) for a monstrous drum performance, recorded by Westmoreland himself. Recorded at JNS Studio in Warsaw by Paweł Grabowski, with guest vocals on “Solvent” by Dominic Nucciarone, the album boasts crisp production, artwork by See Machine, and design by Michał “Xaay” Loranc and Nieścioruk. “We worked hard to make this fourth album happen,” says Nieścioruk. “Willowtip’s support gave us creative freedom, and JNS Studio tuned into our vision perfectly.”

Tooth and Nail is a 40-minute onslaught of technical precision, dissonant atmospheres, and blackened ferocity, with tracks like “Halo of Bones” and “Against the Dying of the Light” showcasing the band’s evolved sound. The album opens with the haunting “Wije i Mary, Pt. 1” and closes with its introspective counterpart, framing a journey of existential conflict and relentless aggression.
