FAUN Release New Single Lady Isobel with Visualizer, Announce Hex Album and World Hex Tour 2025

German pagan folk band FAUN have released their new single, Lady Isobel, from their upcoming twelfth studio album, Hex, set for release on September 5, 2025, via Universal Music. The single, accompanied by a captivating visualizer available to watch online, showcases a deeply personal ballad from vocalist Oliver Satyr, inspired by a poem about a dear friend. Featuring lute (Liuto Forte), flutes, synthesizers, and the band’s signature polyphonic vocals, Satyr describes it as “a wonderfully floating ballad that I am very proud of,” drawing influences from Nick Drake and Bert Jansch. Stream or listen to Lady Isobel online, and pre-order Hex now.

Hex explores themes of female magic, pagan myths, and ancient rituals across Celtic, Anglo-Saxon, Germanic, Norse, and Turkish traditions, with its title derived from the German “Hexe” (witch) and Old High German “Hagazussa” (hedge-sitter). The album features collaborations with Chelsea Wolfe, Fatma Turgut, and Swedish musicians Daniel Pettersson and Daniel Fredriksson, blending medieval instruments (hurdy-gurdy, bagpipes, lute, harp) with modern beats.

The tracklist includes:

  1. Belladonna
  2. Lament
  3. Nimue (feat. Chelsea Wolfe)
  4. Blot
  5. Zauberin
  6. Lady Isobel
  7. Black Eyed Dog (by Nick Drake)
  8. Vals
  9. Ylfa Spere
  10. Hare Spell
  11. Umay (feat. Fatma Turgut)
  12. Alfar

Available in digital, CD digipack (20-page booklet), vinyl double gatefold (Black and Marbled), and a limited deluxe 60-page hardcover book edition, Hex follows the success of Pagan (2022), which hit #3 on the German charts. After achieving platinum (Von den Elben) and gold (Luna) status with Universal Music (2012-2019), FAUN returned to their roots with their own Pagan Folk Records.

The band is currently on the World Hex Tour 2025, spanning the US, Canada, Latin America, Europe, and the UK, with festival stops like M’era Luna and a headline show at Munich’s Circus Krone.

Comprised of Oliver Satyr (vocals, Moraharpa), Laura Fella (vocals), Adaya (vocals, bagpipe), Stephan Groth (vocals, hurdy-gurdy), Niel Mitra (synthesizer, sampler, keyboard, beats), Alexander Schulz (drums, percussion), and Mirjam Skal (orchestration), FAUN have played over 1,000 concerts worldwide, earning three Echo Award nominations.
