Thrash metal veterans FLOTSAM AND JETSAM have released “Harvesting the Hate,” the second single from their upcoming album, Rats In The Temple, arriving August 28 via Napalm Records.
Following the release of the album’s title track, the new single opens the record with relentless intensity, driven by double-kick drumming and the signature guitar work of Michael Gilbert and Steve Conley.
Vocalist Eric A.K. Knutson commented on the song:
“Another heavy, dramatic beast of a song from our arsenal of madness. This one asks you to look in the mirror, to find the true problem in your life. And stop harvesting the hate!”
According to the band, Rats In The Temple showcases the many facets of FLOTSAM AND JETSAM’s songwriting. After opening with “Harvesting the Hate” and “Damnation,” the album moves through technical thrash on “Absolution,” melodic guitar-driven cuts like “Blame the Knife” and the title track, and heavier moments including “The Ghost Behind My Door,” “First on the Spike,” and “Last Rites.” The anti-war anthem “A Taste for War” highlights the rhythm section of drummer Ken Mary and bassist William Bodily, while the album closes with “Not Going Down That Way.”
Rats In The Temple will be available in multiple formats, including several limited-edition vinyl variants, CD digisleeve, and digital editions.
