Thrash metal legends FLOTSAM AND JETSAM have unleashed the ferocious title track from their forthcoming new album, Rats In The Temple, due out August 28 via Napalm Records.

Marking the band’s Napalm Records debut, Rats In The Temple continues the veteran Arizona thrashers’ late-career renaissance following acclaimed releases such as The End of Chaos (2019), Blood in the Water (2021), and I Am the Weapon (2024). Across nearly four decades, 15 studio albums, and countless international tours, FLOTSAM AND JETSAM remain one of thrash metal’s most enduring and technically impressive acts.
Knutson says about the single:
“We’re super excited to release the first single from the album, which is very fittingly the title track, ‘Rats In The Temple’! This song has a lot to say, and we hope the fans love the song as much as we do. This is possibly one of the most technically challenging songs FLOTSAM has ever recorded, and we look forward to delivering this song live as well!”

Rats In The Temple showcases the band’s signature blend of thrash, melodic power metal, and technical precision. Guitarists Michael Gilbert and Steve Conley lead the charge through tracks packed with crushing riffs and intricate harmonies, while the rhythm section of drummer Ken Mary and bassist Bill Bodily delivers relentless intensity throughout.
