GLORYHAMMER have announced their fifth studio album, Space 1993: Wrath Of Kor-Virliath, set for release on October 16 via Napalm Records. Alongside the announcement, the power metal outfit has unveiled the animated video for the album’s first single, “Ultimate Sacrifice.”
Serving as a direct sequel to 2015’s Space 1992: Rise Of The Chaos Wizards, the new album continues the long-running saga of the Intergalactic Empire of Fife. The story follows Angus McFife V, first introduced in the 2022 single “Fly Away,” as he travels across space and time to confront the Elder God Kor-Virliath, who seeks to conquer the universe following Zargothrax’s failed ritual.
“Ultimate Sacrifice” offers the first glimpse into the band’s latest chapter, combining soaring choirs, cinematic orchestration, and hook-filled power metal. The animated video, directed by Alex Henderson, depicts the summoning of Kor-Virliath and the heroes’ desperate quest to stop the ancient threat.
The band commented:
“Mighty warriors! Prepare for battles of galactic steel! Will Angus McFife V fulfill his dream of flying away on a unicorn? What was the true fate of the Hootsman after he imploded? Find out now, in the next episode of GLORYHAMMER!”
Produced by the band and mixed by Jacob Hansen (Volbeat, Amaranthe), Space 1993: Wrath Of Kor-Virliath expands GLORYHAMMER’s sound with influences ranging from traditional power metal and thrash to synth rock and sweeping orchestral arrangements while maintaining the memorable songwriting that has defined the band throughout its career.
