Moldovan modern metal band INFECTED RAIN have unveiled the official music video for their brand new single “Stranger”, marking the beginning of a bold new creative era for the band. The track serves as the first glimpse into their upcoming material and signals a shift into what the group is calling their “Mutation Phase”.

Blending introspective lyricism with driving rhythms and a sharp, modern edge, “Stranger” explores themes of identity, transformation, and inner conflict. The song captures the unsettling realization of becoming disconnected from oneself—an emotional core that resonates through both its sonic intensity and lyrical depth.

Frontwoman Lena Scissorhands shares insight into the track’s meaning:

“‘Stranger’ came from the moment when you realize you don’t fully recognize yourself anymore. It’s an inward fight with identity, with the roles you’ve worn for too long, and the distance that grows between who you are and who you think you should be. In the end, it’s about becoming strangers to ourselves, and trying to find the way back.”

With its release, “Stranger” sets the tone for the band’s evolving direction, pushing beyond comfort zones into something more direct, refined, and emotionally raw. The band adds:

“‘Stranger’ is part of the Mutation Phase Infected Rain is entering right now. It’s the sound of Infected Rain pushing forward, leaving comfort behind, and stepping into something sharper and more direct.”

A New Era Begins

Formed in Chișinău, Moldova, Infected Rain have steadily risen as one of the most distinctive voices in modern heavy music. Known for their fusion of metalcore, nu-metal, and alternative influences, the band has built a global following through relentless touring and a string of acclaimed releases including Endorphin, 86, Ecdysis, and TIME.

At the center of it all is Lena Scissorhands, whose dynamic vocal delivery and commanding stage presence have become synonymous with the band’s identity. Together with guitarist Vadim “Vidick” Ozhog, bassist Alice Lane Pandini, and drummer Eugene Voluta, the band continues to evolve while maintaining the raw intensity that defines their sound.
