German black/death duo Infernal Presence are now streaming their entire debut album, Fiery Paths, ahead of its international release tomorrow, November 26th via Darkness Shall Rise Productions. The full-album stream is available now through the No Gleaming Light YouTube channel.
Formed in 2023, Infernal Presence waste no time proving their strength. Fiery Paths spans six tracks, beginning with an instrumental intro, and delivers a fully realized hybrid of black and death metal that sounds far more seasoned than a two-year-old project has any right to be.
Rather than relying on riff piles or chaotic structures, the band craft songs with intention and precision. They move fluidly between icy tremolo passages reminiscent of Dissection or Mayhem, thrash-tinged palm-muted assaults, and atmospheric slower sections that echo Watain and Ondskapt. The result is dynamic, gripping songwriting that demands the listener’s attention. Highlights like “Eternal Exodus” and the serpentine “Tomb Procession” make the case immediately.
Though only loosely aligned with the aforementioned influences, the album’s suffocating, pitch-black atmosphere also recalls early Secrets of the Moon or Negative Plane’s debut. The production supports this fully: raw and gritty enough to preserve the album’s ferocity, yet clear enough that every sinister detail cuts through.
Fiery Paths is a focused, unrelenting plunge into darkness, an album that fans of the genre’s more shadow-ridden corners should not miss.
