Emerging transatlantic death metal band Invocation Ritual has officially joined the roster of Iron Fortress Records. The band’s debut full-length album, Altered Reality, is set for release on August 14 on vinyl, CD, and digital formats.
Bridging the underground scenes of the Pacific Northwest and Barcelona, Invocation Ritual features current and former members of Oxygen Destroyer, Kontusion, and Reburied. Their debut effort promises a relentless blend of old-school brutality and modern extremity across ten tracks.
Lyrically, Altered Reality tackles harrowing subjects including addiction, warfare, mental illness, and personal collapse, charting a descent into fractured perceptions of both the self and the world.
Bassist Paul Wright reflected on the band’s partnership with the label:
“Iron Fortress Records has always been synonymous with quality death metal from our perspective as fans. To now have their backing and seal of approval is a true honor, and we’re proud to begin this new chapter together.”
The album was engineered and recorded by Paul Wright, vocalist Victor Teller, and guitarist/drummer Billy Anderson, with Anderson also handling mixing duties. Mastering was completed by Greg Wilkinson, while the visual presentation features artwork by Dan Bones and Anne Margrete Sjøflot, the band’s logo by renowned metal artist Christophe Szpajdel, and photography by Taylor Franklin.

Fans won’t have to wait long for another preview of the record. Additional details surrounding Altered Reality are expected on June 24, with Invocation Ritual set to embark on a West Coast tour beginning June 26 in Washington.
With seasoned musicians from respected underground acts and the backing of Iron Fortress Records, Invocation Ritual’s debut looks poised to make a strong impression on the death metal scene this summer.
