American heavy metal guitarist and multi-instrumentalist Jason Richardson, known for his work with All That Remains, Born of Osiris, and Chelsea Grin, has released a virtuosic cover of John Williams’ Hedwig’s Theme from the Harry Potter film series, accompanied by a music video on YouTube.
Released on July 18, 2025, via his independent platform, the track showcases Richardson’s technical prowess on seven-string guitar, recreating the orchestral score note-for-note with added metal flair.

He stated, “I’m so excited to finally have this coming out after working on it for so long. I read and recreated the entire orchestra score from the conductor’s book, adding my own guitar, bass, and drum parts while maintaining the dynamics and spirit of Williams’ music.” Recorded at his home studio, the cover has been praised on X for its “killer” arrangement.
