Swedish metal band Katatonia have released their cover of the KISS track A World Without Heroes, now available digitally for the first time through Napalm Records. The song originally appeared as an exclusive bonus track on the mediabook edition of the band’s 2024 album Nightmares as Extensions of the Waking State. It is accompanied by an additional bonus track, Wind of No Change – Karin Park Remix.
Interpreting the 1981 original, Katatonia transform the song into an atmospheric piece anchored by Jonas Renkse’s distinctive vocals, blending classic rock origins with the band’s trademark melancholy sound.
The release coincides with Katatonia’s ongoing EU and UK headlining tour, which began November 6 in Turku, Finland. The band is joined by labelmates Evergrey and Italian group Klogr on select dates, with performances scheduled across Europe and the UK through the end of the year.
In addition to the European tour, Katatonia have announced the Waking State of North America 2026 headline tour, starting February 27 in San Francisco and concluding March 12 in Brooklyn, New York.
