Symphonic metal band LEAVES’ EYES begin 2026 with the unveiling of an epic new music video for “Song Of Darkness”, the title track and opening chapter of their forthcoming EP, due out March 6, 2026 via Reigning Phoenix Music. The release marks the first full glimpse into the band’s next creative era, blending cinematic scale with deeply human emotion.
Recorded at Mastersound Studio under the direction of band founder and producer Alexander Krull, Song Of Darkness expands on LEAVES’ EYES’ signature fusion of orchestral grandeur and metallic intensity. The title track draws lyrical inspiration from the medieval Icelandic Saga of Gisli the Outlaw, exploring themes of murder, guilt-ridden visions, tragic love, and the fragile hope of redemption.
“Our Song of Darkness transports you to a world of dark dreams and inner turmoil, where mystical spirits from ancient times guide your destiny,” explains Krull, describing the song as “a tragic love story, but no happy ending.”
Vocalist Elina Siirala adds, “It’s a play with contrasts—mysterious and dark, yet light and angelic. Even in a dark story, there’s a sense of hopefulness.”
Musically, the EP unfolds like a saga in four acts. Towering choirs, sweeping strings, and folk-infused melodies rise alongside crushing riffs and Krull’s grounded growls, while Siirala’s commanding performance illuminates the emotional core of each track. The result is a dramatic, immersive atmosphere defined by tension, release, and the timeless pull of myth.
With Song Of Darkness, LEAVES’ EYES reaffirm their place among symphonic metal’s most evocative storytellers. The EP arrives March 6, 2026, and will be followed by European and UK tour dates with CATALYST CRIME, with more shows to be announced.
