German melodic hard rock band MAD MAX have released a lyric video for their new single “Keep You Alive,” the second preview of their upcoming studio album, Stories Of Destiny, out September 4, 2026, via ROAR – A Division Of Reigning Phoenix Music.
Following the previously released “Silver,” “Keep You Alive” was co-written with HELLOWEEN guitarist Sascha Gerstner and delivers MAD MAX’s trademark combination of powerful guitar riffs, melodic hooks and classic hard rock energy.
The new album arrives as MAD MAX celebrate 45 years since their formation, bringing together newly recorded songs, previously unreleased material and collaborations that connect different periods of the band’s history.
Founded in Münster, Germany, in 1981 by guitarist, songwriter and bandleader Jürgen Breforth, MAD MAX have spent more than four decades developing their guitar-driven combination of melodic hard rock and heavy metal.
Stories Of Destiny looks back at that history while introducing a new chapter for the band. The album marks the arrival of UK vocalist Alan Clark and features the return of original MAD MAX singer Andreas Baesler as a special guest, making his first appearance with the band in 45 years.
Several songs originated through Breforth’s collaborations with notable rock and metal musicians. In addition to Sascha Gerstner, the guitarist worked with David Readman of Pink Cream 69, Andreas Bruhn of The Sisters Of Mercy and longtime Michael Schenker collaborator Michael Voss. Those ideas have now been reworked and recorded in MAD MAX’s own style for the new album.
The record also reaches into the band’s archives with two previously unreleased songs dating back to 1991, “’Til The End Of Time” and “Weapons Of Love.”
Another direct connection to MAD MAX’s beginnings comes with “Piece Of Candy.” The song is based around the first guitar riff Breforth wrote for the band in 1981 and has now been newly recorded as a duet featuring current vocalist Alan Clark and original singer Andreas Baesler.
Baesler also appears on “Dulces Falsos,” a Spanish-language version of the song. It marks the first time MAD MAX have recorded a song with Spanish lyrics and serves as a tribute to the band’s growing Latin American audience.
