German thrash metal band EXUMER have released “Allocated Savagery,” the latest single from their upcoming studio album, Death Mask Messiah, due August 28 via Metal Blade Records.
“Allocated Savagery” draws inspiration from the 1993 standoff between federal authorities and the Branch Davidians in Waco, Texas. The event forms part of the broader conceptual framework behind Death Mask Messiah, which explores political polarization, the pandemic, misinformation and cultural division in the United States over the past decade.
“‘Allocated Savagery’ delivers a brutal musical and lyrical account of the event,” vocalist Mem V. Stein explains. “The track captures the intensity of the confrontation with the ATF, while reflecting on themes of misinformation and division that still resonate today.”
EXUMER Return With First Album In Seven Years
Death Mask Messiah marks EXUMER’s first new studio album in seven years and follows the trajectory established across the band’s previous three records while adopting an even more direct and aggressive approach.
The 11-track album was recorded between December 2025 and January 2026 and produced by Dominic Paraskevopoulos, whose credits include Kreator and Caliban. Arthur Rizk, known for his work with Soulfly and King Diamond, handled mixing and mastering.
The record also marks EXUMER’s first album with drummer Jerome Reil and bassist Alex Voss.
“You can feel their young energy, coupled with our trademark aggression and experience,” Stein says. “The band sounds more focused and yet raw, thanks to their addition to the lineup.”
According to Stein, the sequencing of Death Mask Messiah was specifically designed to follow the album’s lyrical and conceptual narrative while complementing the music composed by guitarists Ray Mensh and Marc B.
“I think we are heading toward a thrash renaissance, with legacy bands like us, Exodus and Kreator dropping new albums, and younger bands becoming very popular with younger fans,” Stein adds.
Despite the seven-year gap between albums, EXUMER maintain that their approach remains firmly centered on “quality over quantity.”
Nasty Ronnie Guests On “Unchained Angel”
The album closes with EXUMER’s cover of Nasty Savage’s “Unchained Angel,” featuring guest vocals from Nasty Savage frontman Nasty Ronnie Galletti.
The collaboration reconnects the two bands nearly four decades after EXUMER supported Nasty Savage during their first European tour in 1988.
“EXUMER is a legendary powerhouse with history to crush any stage they play,” Nasty Ronnie says. “There is great history from 1988 with Nasty Savage touring Europe and I am honored to be a part of this project!”
